My GF put together a photo slideshow video for one of my songs and put it up on YouTube. It's not the same as the classical stuff I have been putting up on this site so far, but I still think you all will like it. It's me singing and playing my guitar. The song is titled Open Your Eyes, and it was a live recording I did on my iPhone, but it still turned out rather well!

I'm still alive!
Oh boy, it's been way too long since my last post! I haven't had much of a chance to work on music since my last post, an out of state friend of mine came up for a week, plus thanksgiving, and christmas shopping, time with the girlfriend and family, I've been taking a mini-vacation. I did get some work done on my novel, so I haven't been completely unproductive, but I hope to get back to my music in the not too distant future. Just thought I should give a quick update so you all know I'm not dead... now back to procrastinating!

What I've been up to
Sorry for the lack of updates, my life has been really busy with Halloween and everything. I went to a friend's party on saturday, had a great time, peach flavored jello shots (tasted just like those peach ring gummy candies), introduced my GF to all my friends, everyone had a lot of fun plus my costume turned out really nice, decked out in Roman attire; it was sleeveless so I got to show off my new arms (I'm in the final week of p90x). A guy at the party was even dressed up as Tony from p90x, which was pretty amusing.
At about 1am that night me and my GF went to help out another friend who had gotten his car stuck 30min away, then we went to Shari's for some late night food and watched Always Sunny until 6am. After a 3 hour nap we got up at 9:30am and went on a Jazz lunch cruise thing, awesome food, view, and entertainment. Then we came home and passed out for a few more hours. After that it was time to watch Dawn of the Dead, The Walking Dead, and Dexter, plus hand out candy to trick-or-treaters (though we only got 3 kids at our house).
So basically I had non-stop fun for 2 days straight. What did you all end up doing/dressing up as for Halloween?

It's almost time for HALLOWEEN!
So I've got Halloween on my mind! What are you guys dressing up as this year? What are your plans? I'm going to be Mark Anthony (the Roman military leader, not the guy married to J-lo), it's a pretty nice costume, and also the first costume I have purchased in many many years. I usually just make my costumes or borrow other peoples' from previous years. Anyway, one thing I'm excited about for Halloween this year is the new show coming out on AMC called The Walking Dead. Anyone seen the pilot episode yet, and if so, did you like it? I know it's leaked online already, but I'm waiting to watch it on my big screen TV. Anyway, here's the trailer:

Here's what's up!
So the girlfriend met my mom today, so now we have met each others parents. It went really well, we went to a nice Italian restaurant and had a really good time. I knew everyone was going to get along, but it was good to see I was right. That was pretty much the last big step for us to take in our relationship for awhile so it should be smooth sailing from here on out. That's the reason for my lack of posts as of late, just been super busy in my personal life. I still need to do a lot of work on my 3rd album before I can publish the tracks, so please stick with me if you like the music I have already uploaded.
Anyway, off topic, I finally got around to seeing Social Network the other day, and found it to be quite fascinating. Anyone else see it?

Spring Side
Had a busy weekend, watched the UFC fights plus college football on Saturday, and met the girlfriend's parents on Sunday. Everything went great if you were wondering. Today's song is the last track of my 2nd Album, Reflections, and it's meant to be the wind down of the album, which I'm sure you will notice if you listen to the end as it slows down and drifts out almost like a lullaby. Spring Side is the title, and now with this track posted I have a bunch of work to do to get my 3rd (currently untitled) album named, the songs ordered and named, and posted in the upcoming weeks. It might take me a little time, but stick with me folks and I know your ears will thank you!

Rapture
Today's song is one of my favorites. My nephew wrote the beginning and then asked me to finish it for him, and this is the final product. The song builds up slowly at first but soon gets quite exciting, before ending in a dynamic crescendo. Rapture is available in the player, and as usual all songs can be downloaded by clicking the 'S' in the top part of the player. Enjoy this one folks, I'm really proud of it!

Dark Maria
Next up is Dark Maria, titled after the term for the dark flat region on the surface of the moon. I think this song goes well with the rest of my Reflections album. I wrote it really fast, but it's a surprisingly solid song if I do say so myself. Enjoy!

Night's Embrace
This next track, Night's Embrace, is much slower and more relaxed than some of the other songs on my second album. I came up with the chord progression, then when I went to record the chords so that I wouldn't forget them I improvised the entire song. The slight hesitation before some of the notes really added to the emotion of the song, so my 'just to remember the chords' recording ended up making its way onto the CD! Enjoy!

Breaking the Veil
Track 5 of my second album Reflections is now available in the player. It's got more of a somber and mysterious mood to it. Sorry for the short post, but I'm short on time today; just wanted to let you all know that Breaking the Veil is available for your listening pleasure!

Lighthouse Serenade
Track 4 of my album Reflections is now available in the player. Its called Lighthouse Serenade, and I feel it meshes well with the other pieces in this album by giving the same sense of contemplation that's felt throughout the album, albeit a slightly turbulent contemplation in this case! I've also added a widget to the right where you can sign up for my mailing list. Don't worry, I won't actually send out any emails unless something awesome happens, signing up just adds you my fan count on reverbnation, then down the road if I ever get into anything big or release a new album I can send out an announcement! More songs to come as the week progresses, have a great rest of the day!

Philosopher's Repose Part 2
Here is the part 2 track I promised everyone yesterday. It IS a stand alone song, but I wrote it right after part 1 and it felt like a companion piece to part 1, hence the naming. Also I just wanted to let everyone know that there wont be a new post tomorrow because Sunday is my 2 month anniversary with my amazing girlfriend! I'll be back at it Monday though with another track from my second album. All of my songs can be downloaded at my ReverbNation profile which you can reach through the player to the right. PS: people should stop complaining about auto-play, because I'm not going to change it; I get a higher ranking on ReverbNation and a little money the more plays I get.

Midnight Sun
Here is the final song off of my first album (Origins), it's called Midnight Sun (Available in the player to the right), so it's only appropriate that I am posting it so close to midnight... Actually I've just been really busy today and this was the first chance I had to get online. Anyway, this song starts off kinda slow, but it picks up after a bit, it's a whopping 5 and a half minutes long. Hopefully a few of you will have the patience to listen to the whole thing. Anyway, that's my Wednesday update, hope you enjoyed my first album! I will start uploading my second album (Reflections) tomorrow!

Revolution
Today's song is a bit more upbeat and bouncy than the other songs of my first album. It's called Revolution and its sort of a companion piece to yesterday's song, Soldier's March. For those of you who asked about adding strings, yes I have considered it, but it's a lot of work and keep in mind that these are all old live recordings. If I ever got them remastered I would definitely add other instruments. Enjoy!

Soldier's March
Sorry I was busy yesterday so no new song for Sunday, but I've got Monday's update nice and early for everyone. The song is called Soldier's March, it's available over in the player on the right, and as usual it can be downloaded (just click around in the player, it will eventually take you to my reverbnation profile). The ending is my favorite part, so make sure to listen all the way through to the end! Happy listening!

Into Oblivion
I've posted a new song to the player, it's called Into Oblivion, hope you all enjoy it. (PS, it has nothing to do with the video game, which didn't even exist yet when I first wrote this song.) ((PPS, reverbnation pays me for song plays, so that's why the player starts automatically, sorry for the inconvenience, but at least its not some loud heavy metal stuff, I want random visitors to hear at least a few seconds and then maybe actually give it a chance because they liked it!))

Remembrance
New song available in the player, titled Remembrance. I remember writing this song on Christmas Eve 5 years ago, it doesn't really have anything to do with Christmas per se, other than the feelings of warmth and security that come along with being with family through the holidays. Hope you all enjoy it!

Eternal Current
Here is another track from my first album (I'm pretty much just uploading them in order). It's called Eternal Current. Thanks again for all the great comments! To answer some more questions, all of my newer songs have lyrics, I just haven't gotten around to recording them yet... I spend most of my time writing my novel, so music has taken a bit of a back seat for the moment, but I'm still coming up with new piece all the time, I'm just not necessarily perfecting them to recording level. Anyway, hope you like it!

Searching
Thank you all for the kind comments! I really wasn't expecting so much support. To answer a few questions, these days I write mostly acoustic alternative music, but also some showtunes because I'm writing a musical. I'm 23 now, and I started playing when I was 5, but didn't start writing my own music until I was about 16. Writing just comes naturally to me, I can't really explain how I do it, I play by ear and so I can hear a song in my head and just whip it out.
This new track is called Searching and it features my nephew on the guitar, it's also from my first CD. Hope you all enjoy it!

How to Upload audio??
I'd like to upload songs that I have recorded to my blog posts, but I have no idea how, can anybody help me out with that? I only see built in ways to upload link and video clips, but no audio.
An old poem I wrote.
Three-mile limit
Quickly dipping, turning, flipping,
scarcely skirting land and sky,
the kite gnaws at its string relentlessly
chaffing fears both low and high.
Down the line and to the left,
just past the pier’s ungainly mass,
the crashing waves of liquid jade
churn forth a chill of winter glass.
A little boy of nine or ten is
combing sand for rocks and shells,
he saves a few and casts the rest
into the ocean’s midnight swells.
They scream his name and search ‘till dawn
through wave cut coves and idle cracks,
until the tide comes rolling in,
forever blotting out his tracks.
First!
My girlfriend is a terrible trash talker on xbox live. She dishes it out like no other... "Little baby can't kill me! Girls can teabag too f**got! You just got raped so hard I can't even recognize your face!" Those are a few of the things she said in the last minute, and it just keeps going... I'd say more but it gets rather graphic. It's pretty much awesome. I guess that's what happens when you're a professional gamer!
