It's almost time for HALLOWEEN!

So I've got Halloween on my mind! What are you guys dressing up as this year? What are your plans? I'm going to be Mark Anthony (the Roman military leader, not the guy married to J-lo), it's a pretty nice costume, and also the first costume I have purchased in many many years. I usually just make my costumes or borrow other peoples' from previous years. Anyway, one thing I'm excited about for Halloween this year is the new show coming out on AMC called The Walking Dead. Anyone seen the pilot episode yet, and if so, did you like it? I know it's leaked online already, but I'm waiting to watch it on my big screen TV. Anyway, here's the trailer:

Here's what's up!

So the girlfriend met my mom today, so now we have met each others parents. It went really well, we went to a nice Italian restaurant and had a really good time. I knew everyone was going to get along, but it was good to see I was right. That was pretty much the last big step for us to take in our relationship for awhile so it should be smooth sailing from here on out. That's the reason for my lack of posts as of late, just been super busy in my personal life. I still need to do a lot of work on my 3rd album before I can publish the tracks, so please stick with me if you like the music I have already uploaded.

Anyway, off topic, I finally got around to seeing Social Network the other day, and found it to be quite fascinating. Anyone else see it?

Spring Side

Had a busy weekend, watched the UFC fights plus college football on Saturday, and met the girlfriend's parents on Sunday. Everything went great if you were wondering. Today's song is the last track of my 2nd Album, Reflections, and it's meant to be the wind down of the album, which I'm sure you will notice if you listen to the end as it slows down and drifts out almost like a lullaby. Spring Side is the title, and now with this track posted I have a bunch of work to do to get my 3rd (currently untitled) album named, the songs ordered and named, and posted in the upcoming weeks. It might take me a little time, but stick with me folks and I know your ears will thank you!

Rapture

Today's song is one of my favorites. My nephew wrote the beginning and then asked me to finish it for him, and this is the final product. The song builds up slowly at first but soon gets quite exciting, before ending in a dynamic crescendo. Rapture is available in the player, and as usual all songs can be downloaded by clicking the 'S' in the top part of the player. Enjoy this one folks, I'm really proud of it!

Dark Maria

Next up is Dark Maria, titled after the term for the dark flat region on the surface of the moon. I think this song goes well with the rest of my Reflections album. I wrote it really fast, but it's a surprisingly solid song if I do say so myself. Enjoy!

Night's Embrace

This next track, Night's Embrace, is much slower and more relaxed than some of the other songs on my second album. I came up with the chord progression, then when I went to record the chords so that I wouldn't forget them I improvised the entire song. The slight hesitation before some of the notes really added to the emotion of the song, so my 'just to remember the chords' recording ended up making its way onto the CD! Enjoy!

Breaking the Veil

Track 5 of my second album Reflections is now available in the player. It's got more of a somber and mysterious mood to it. Sorry for the short post, but I'm short on time today; just wanted to let you all know that Breaking the Veil is available for your listening pleasure!

Lighthouse Serenade

Track 4 of my album Reflections is now available in the player. Its called Lighthouse Serenade, and I feel it meshes well with the other pieces in this album by giving the same sense of contemplation that's felt throughout the album, albeit a slightly turbulent contemplation in this case! I've also added a widget to the right where you can sign up for my mailing list. Don't worry, I won't actually send out any emails unless something awesome happens, signing up just adds you my fan count on reverbnation, then down the road if I ever get into anything big or release a new album I can send out an announcement! More songs to come as the week progresses, have a great rest of the day!

Philosopher's Repose Part 2

Here is the part 2 track I promised everyone yesterday. It IS a stand alone song, but I wrote it right after part 1 and it felt like a companion piece to part 1, hence the naming. Also I just wanted to let everyone know that there wont be a new post tomorrow because Sunday is my 2 month anniversary with my amazing girlfriend! I'll be back at it Monday though with another track from my second album. All of my songs can be downloaded at my ReverbNation profile which you can reach through the player to the right. PS: people should stop complaining about auto-play, because I'm not going to change it; I get a higher ranking on ReverbNation and a little money the more plays I get.

Philosopher's Repose Part 1

Track 2 of my album Reflections is now available in the player. It's called Philosopher's Repose Part 1; part 2 will be posted tomorrow. Once again, thank you all for the nice comments, it really means a lot to know people are enjoying my music! Have a great Friday!

Midnight Sun

Here is the final song off of my first album (Origins), it's called Midnight Sun (Available in the player to the right), so it's only appropriate that I am posting it so close to midnight... Actually I've just been really busy today and this was the first chance I had to get online. Anyway, this song starts off kinda slow, but it picks up after a bit, it's a whopping 5 and a half minutes long. Hopefully a few of you will have the patience to listen to the whole thing. Anyway, that's my Wednesday update, hope you enjoyed my first album! I will start uploading my second album (Reflections) tomorrow!

Revolution

Today's song is a bit more upbeat and bouncy than the other songs of my first album. It's called Revolution and its sort of a companion piece to yesterday's song, Soldier's March. For those of you who asked about adding strings, yes I have considered it, but it's a lot of work and keep in mind that these are all old live recordings. If I ever got them remastered I would definitely add other instruments. Enjoy!

Soldier's March

Sorry I was busy yesterday so no new song for Sunday, but I've got Monday's update nice and early for everyone. The song is called Soldier's March, it's available over in the player on the right, and as usual it can be downloaded (just click around in the player, it will eventually take you to my reverbnation profile). The ending is my favorite part, so make sure to listen all the way through to the end! Happy listening!

Into Oblivion

I've posted a new song to the player, it's called Into Oblivion, hope you all enjoy it. (PS, it has nothing to do with the video game, which didn't even exist yet when I first wrote this song.) ((PPS, reverbnation pays me for song plays, so that's why the player starts automatically, sorry for the inconvenience, but at least its not some loud heavy metal stuff, I want random visitors to hear at least a few seconds and then maybe actually give it a chance because they liked it!))

Remembrance

New song available in the player, titled Remembrance. I remember writing this song on Christmas Eve 5 years ago, it doesn't really have anything to do with Christmas per se, other than the feelings of warmth and security that come along with being with family through the holidays. Hope you all enjoy it!
